Murdoch CEO Labels Bloggers 'Political Extremists'
July 2, 2009 - A stinging attack by John Hartigan, the CEO of Rupert Murdoch’s News Limited, labels bloggers and alternative media outlets as “political extremists”. Hartigan implies that bloggers should be jailed as they are in oppressive police states like China and Burma.
In a speech to the National Press Club, Hartigan savagely dismissed blogs as, “Something of such little intellectual value as to be barely discernible from massive ignorance.”
“Bloggers don’t go to jail for their work. They simply aren’t held accountable like ' real' reporters….It could be said the blogosphere is all eyeballs and no insights,” barked Hartigan.

Hartigan doesn’t seem to grasp the fact that the mainstream media is always found wanting because they habitually lie about news events and spin stories to suit the demands of their corporate owners. Energy bills 'too low' to combat climate change (?!)
June 30, 2009 -Consumers will need to pay more for energy if the UK is to have any chance of developing the technologies needed to tackle climate change, according to a group of leading scientists and engineers.
"We have adapted to an energy price which is unrealistically low if we're going to try and preserve the environment," EH???
Shepherd admitted higher energy costs would be a hard sell to the public, (do ya think?) but said it was not unthinkable. Part of the revenue could be generated by a carbon tax that took the place of VAT, so that the cost of an item took into account the energy and carbon footprint of a product. This would allow people to make appropriate decisions on their spending. (wake up sheeple - the sun, the sun,SUN)

Costing a king's ransom - Time to get rid?
The Queen and the Royal Family cost the taxpayer 69p per person last year - an increase of 3p, Buckingham Palace accounts showed today. The total cost of keeping the monarchy increased by £1.5 million to £41.5 million during the 2008-09 financial year.
The 69p per person can only be accurately worked out when you work out how many people in the coutry pay tax. 69p is the result when you divide the cost by head of population not the tax payers.
Why not make it that the people who are actually stupid enough to want this family of Greco-Germans at the helm, pay for them. A simple box to tick on a tax form would suffice. Or just get rid of them for good. The hidden personal wealth and investments that the queen has can only be imagined some say 15Billion plus?

The incredible wealth of the 'royals' was accumulated of course form the people during previous centuries. It would pay the University tuition fees of tens of thousands of the poorest students, fund dozens of new secondary schools, or pay for the running of how many hospitals.
The monarchy no longer commands the respect or support of the British people. The appalling behavior individuals within this institution renders it unfit to sit at the head of this country. The Duke of Edinburgh is another disgrace to the nation. Only 12% of the public believe that the monarchy should continue in its present form.Clearly, people have lost faith in the monarchy, and something needs to be done to correct this situation.
I suspect that the actual income brought in by the Royal Family in tourism per year is £0.00. Let's just not abolish the guards with the funny hats: they're the real draw.

Ireland commissioner says most EU countries would reject Lisbon Treaty

European Union's Lisbon Treaty fuels flames of dissent across continent
28/6/09 - The Lisbon Treaty is expected to take a key step towards becoming law across the European Union this week when Germany's highest court rules that it is broadly compatible with the country's constitution.
The much-anticipated judgment will mean that only three out of the EU's 27 member states will still have to complete formal ratification of the treaty - Poland, the Czech Republic and Ireland.
The former two countries merely need their presidents' signatures on the legislation to finalise the process. Ireland, where voters rejected the Treaty last year, will stage a new referendum in October - with the government increasingly confident of a "Yes" vote this time round after the EU assured Ireland of its independence over taxation, security, defence, abortion, and workers' rights. British passports to be given to a record 220,000 migrants this year!!!
June 22, 2009 - In the first three months of 2009, 54,615 citizenship applications were approved - up 57 per cent on the same period in 2008.

MORE than £2 million has been spent covering British MPs' expense files in black ink
June 20, 2009 - Blacking out many of the most interesting and controversial details of MPs’ expenses was an expensive operation carried out on Parliament’s instructions by the Stationery Office, the privatised publisher of official documents.
The company was contracted by the House of Commons to prepare the claims for release after Parliament lost a three-year legal battle with journalists and freedom of information campaigners to keep the information secret.
Party leaders struggled to explain the decision to publish heavily blacked-out versions of MPs’ claims as public anger mounted.
Hundreds of pages of claims have been removed altogether before the expense files were published. Many of these will be made available on the Telegraph website. Teachers are being handed five-page guides warning of the dangers of Pritt Stick, fuelling claims health and safety rules are ruining education.
Staff told how they had been subjected to a series of increasingly bizarre guidelines to stop schools being sued in the event of an accident. A teacher said one school ordered adults and children to wear goggles when using Blu-Tack.
Another told how a school banned them from using spray foam when marking out spaces in case a child slips and "drowns" in it.
And at one primary school, a three-legged race was dropped from sports day because it was too dangerous.
The disclosures are made in a survey of almost 600 school staff by Teachers' TV.

June 18, 2009 - The BBC has again been caught engaging in mass public deception by using photographs of pro-Ahmadinejad rallies in Iran and claiming they represent anti-government protests in favor of Hossein Mousavi.
An image used by the L.A. Times on the front page of its website Tuesday showed Iranian President Ahmadinejad waving to a crowd of supporters at a public event.
In a story covering the election protests yesterday, the BBC News website used a closer shot of the same scene, but with Ahmadinejad cut out of the frame. The caption under the photograph read, ‘Supporters of Mir Hossein Mousavi again defied a ban
onprotests’.
The BBC photograph is clearly a similar shot of the same pro-Ahmadinejad rally featuredin the L.A. Times image, yet the caption erroneously claims it represents anti-Ahmadinejad protesters.

Doctors told to give priority to gypsies
Gypsies and travellers should be given priority in NHS hospitals and GP surgeries, according to Government guidance.
June 18, 2009 - They should be given longer consultations, and should be seen by GPs when they walk in without an appointment, even if doctors are fully-booked.
The average length of a consultation is five or ten minutes but travellers will be given 20 minutes and allowed to bring relatives into the consulting rooms.
The guidelines have been introduced because, under race laws, gypsies and travellers are defined as minority ethnic groups and the NHS is obliged to consider their special needs and circumstances. Unbelievable? READ IT

Parents of children at a primary school have been banned from taking pictures of their own children at the annual sports day.
June 18, 2009 - Mrs Ethelston's Church of England Primary School, in Uplyme, Devon, prohibited photos and video filming, claiming it was due to changes in child protection and images legislation. MORE

The Conservative leader has told senior colleagues that they should do nothing to oppose a Blair candidacy if the Lisbon treaty, which creates the role, is ratified later this year.
EU heads of government could choose their first president as early as December if the Irish vote “yes” (LIKE THEY HAVE A CHOICE?) in an October referendum and the other remaining countries yet to ratify then sign up. Mr Blair, now a Middle East envoy, has avoided openly promoting himself before the selection but is known to be interested in representing the EU on the world stage.
The issue is awkward for Mr Cameron, ( only if YOU find out about it) who has repeatedly refused to answer questions about a Blair candidacy on the ground that the Tories oppose the treaty that creates the post.
